Damn. This makes it harder to trade him.
Time to sit him for the season. We've been far too competitive. If we're going to tank, we need to tank properly.
Clown Town
Mediocre Man back with his mediocre sources
I've seen this play out before.
"All the way back to that May evening in 2007, when the Rookie of the Year stepped onto a Secaucus stage and brought back the No. 1 pick, Brandon Roy never lost sight of the truth. Maybe Oden, the glum center, will become a ferocious force for the Blazers, but the most improbable truth of that draft lottery turned out to be this: Before those ping-pong balls ever bounced Portland’s way, the Blazers already had themselves a franchise player."
FYI
LAMARCUS ALDRIDGE TO UNDERGO SURGERY ON RIGHT HIP, WILL MISSREMAINDER OF SEASON
PortlandAll-Star forward/center will be sidelined final seven games
PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Trail Blazers forward/center LaMarcusAldridge will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right hip to repair alabral tear and will miss the remainder of the season, it was announced todayby the team.
"In his most recent MRI, and following further evaluation, it's beendetermined that LaMarcus has a slight labral tear and will require arthroscopicsurgery," said Acting General Manager Chad Buchanan."LaMarcus' priority is that he's 100-percent healthy going into trainingcamp this fall and we all feel this is the best course. He's had an All-Staryear and his long-term health is the most important thing to consider."
Dr. Marc Phillipon will perform the surgery at a date to be determined.
A first-time NBA All-Star this year, Aldridge averaged a team-high 21.7 pointsto go with 8.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.93 steals, 0.82 blocks and 36.3 minutesin 55 games (all starts). He shot 51.2 percent from the field and 81.4 percentfrom the foul line, both career highs.
Aldridge currently ranks eighth among league leaders in scoring, 14th in fieldgoal shooting and 25th in rebounding. He is the only NBA player averaging atleast 21 points and eight rebounds while shooting better than 50 percent fromthe floor.
Shocking.

sucks if he misses the olympics for this.
All pissing and moaning about sources and other assorted BS aside, I'm just relieved that this sounds like a pretty minor surgery and LA should be back by fall camp. The Olympics would have been nice, but the important thing is that he's ready to go next fall.
Looking forward to a new Blazers era.
It's sad when the best player on the team has to have surgery in order to wake up the rest of his teammates and get them to start tanking.
Surgery in 2 weeks. LMA live at the PF!
