Jim Ferry was hired to replace Ron Everhart at Duquesne on Tuesday.

A source close to the negotiations, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because terms were not released, told The Associated Press that Ferry agreed to a seven-year deal with an annual base salary of $600,000.

Ferry replaces Everhart, who was fired last month after six seasons at the Pittsburgh private school.
