If the Blazers are determined to pay big bucks for a free agent this summer, they better meet these qualifications:

1) No knee troubles. Fuck, haven't we had enough of this shit?
2) Ironman for career so far. If you are overpaying for a player it is better to have - you know - on the floor.
3) A true star player (Deron Williams is only one that is a free agent this summer)
4) A 7 footer who can play. So rare. (Hibbert)
5) An excellent PG who can set up other players.

Shortish shooting guards with knee problems and inconsistent playing history DO NOT qualify on any account.

Players like Gordon - who is a decent enough player - are the type that (in other years when there are few teams with big cap space) you wait out the fury and try to pluck on the reboud for a "bargain" price - ie, less than the obscene amounts decent free agents will get this summer.
