I have never seen him play and have no idea if he would be good for the Blazers, but I was eating last night with several Blazer fans and one non-decision-making employee who shall remain nameless and they all started drooling over Lillard. I just read a little, and opinions seem all over the place. Anyone with some knowledge or thoughts?
I don't like him. I have seen him play a couple of times, and he is a scoring guard. My opinion is a poor man's Bayless, but I'd like to see him with better players around him
So some of what was being said was that once the measurements are done, people will be surprised that he has a super wingspan and is an excellent athlete. Those two things bode well in the NBA if he has a mind and talent to boot. On the downside, he averaged 2.3 TO to 4assists this past season. But he shot 52% from 2, 40% from 3 and was a 89% FT shooter. Those all look real nice, especially since he one the one good player on his team and likely was the focus for most defenses.
I watched him against PSU in person back in January and he certainly looked like he was a cut above his Big Sky competition, but I don't know how to translate what I saw in that game to the NBA level. All I know is that If it came down to Marshall and Lilliard still on the board I'd take Marshall every single damn time
Yeah, Marshall's ability to push the ball and find teammates is uncanny. He doesn't even need to score. I think he's a guy who can average 10 asts per 36 right off the bat. Aldridge and Batum would thrive with him.
Hey man, I watched him play the Vikings and what I saw at the time never made me think he'd make a good NBA lead guard. I totally stand behind the statement I made based on what I knew at the time.
Oh please! The HCP doesn't even have opinions on college players until they're drafted. I could just make some guy up and you wouldn't even know it. By the way, HCP did you hear about that kid Terrell Johnson out of Pitt? He's amazing. You should really look him up.
That's cool. That exact same thing is what would happen to 95% of your rep points. (This message is from Mrs. HCP and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the poster under which this post is made - well, technically it does as Mrs. HCP is under me right now.)
