The Pittsburgh Pirates released struggling pitcher Erik Bedard on Tuesday. Bedard, who signed a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Pirates in December, is 7-14 with a 5.01 ERA this season. His 14 losses are tied for the most in the majors.
