As for me, I don't think any team should think they have a guaranteed BCS bid before the season starts. Along the way we usually play 4-6 top 25 teams and clearly any of them can beat us on any given day. Then there are injuries. And sometimes a team is just flat or makes a small mistake or two that is really costly. It happens because it's football.

That said I think anything less than 9 wins will be very disappointing to me given the talent and depth we have. Even 9 wins will make me wonder if we have the right head coach. But 10 wins and I'll be satisfied unless those 2 losses were a result of very poor coaching.

I am thinking a reasonable expectation is not going to National Title game.

I think with the talent the Ducks have, a BCS bowl is in easy reach, even with one loss.

If the Ducks can return to the Rose Bowl as actual Pac-12 champs, an at-large, or even in the BCS title game, then season will have exceeded expectations.

If the Ducks go to a BCS bowl like the Fiesta Bowl or the Orange bowl, that is all good too.

all sorts of things are outside of the coach's control that could cause even the most promising season to implode. That said, Oregon seems as stacked on paper as they've ever been. Helfrich won't be installing a new offense/inventing the wheel, he'll be tweaking it/keeping it rolling. Nothing is even close to being guaranteed, but Vegas rates UO's chances of rolling right through this season about as favorably as anyone else's.

If expectations aren't to keep the same type of winning and to do even better than we did under Chip, we made the wrong hire. My expectations are no worse than 10th in the country in any year. Anything less than that should be unexceptable to any Duck fan

2 losses before the bowl game would be a let down

3 is unreasonable. 2 loses is understandable. But with our schedule, our biggest threats are Beavers, Stanford, UCLA and Arizona State.

What about Virginia? It's 3 time zones away.

Didn't we play at Tennessee once upon a time and thumped them?

Oregon needs to beat Stanford on the farm and crack the Fuskies...... Make the Rose Bowl at the least, and take out OSU and make a point of running up the score on that Shit Weasel Meyer. That will establish Oregon on its own merit away from Chip Kelly, and provide solid recruiting for years!
