The Iowa Energy have obtained 6'11" F/C Jarrid Famous and a 2013 1st Round Draft Pick from the Los Angeles D-Fenders in a trade completed this afternoon.

In exchange for Famous and the draft pick, the Energy sent G/F Morris Almond and the rights to G Mike Taylor to Los Angeles.

Famous, who was originally drafted by the Energy in the 2011 D-League Draft, has averaged 9.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in 21 games with the D-Fenders this season.

"We are extremely excited to have Jarrid back in an Energy uniform. He brings size and physicality to our team that we need right now. He will be a difference-maker from day one with us," said Energy General Manager Chris Makris. "Any time you can add a future 1st round pick to the asset list, that is something that will pay dividends either via a trade later this season, or in the draft next year."

Famous is expected to join the Energy today and be available on Friday, Feb. 1 when the team hosts the Springfield Armor in Iowa.
