Which teams still have them? Which players on each of those teams are eligible? Neither list can be very long, can it?

HCP, wanna get one of your nerd buddies to put something together?

This isn't the full list of players but it is the full list of teams that have the option left:

BOS - Pierce (won't do it, he is expiring)
    TOR - Bargs (could happen)
    CHI - Boozer (could happen)
    MIL - Gooden (possibility)
DET - No one eligible left
MIA - Mike Miller (small possibility)
ATL - Horford (won't happen - not sure why I even listing him)
CHA - Tyrus Thomas (likely to happen)
OKC - Perkins (close to likely to happen)
UTA - No one eligible left
LAL - Kobe (very slight possiblity), World Peace (bigger possibility)
SAC - Marcus Thorton or John Salmons
SAS - No one eligible left
MEM - No one that they would do (that I can see)
NOH - No one that they would do (that I can see)

All the other teams have already used their Amnesty. Also the player Amnestied had to have been signed before December 8th 2011 to be eligible.

Depending on if Kobe would be offended, the Lakers should amnesty him, let him recover all of next year and then sign him the following year since his original contract would have expired. I've been hearing his contract is going to cost them up to 80M next year (30M for salary plus luxury tax). I've heard that scenario on ESPN so I assume it would be ok under the CBA.

    That's a pretty smart idea.

He's good and all, but I wouldn't even touch him.

Oh god no! Have you actually watched Perkins play lately? The guy flat out sucks. Hasheem Thabeet is putting up better numbers across the board, at both ends of the court. Perkins has played almost 2000 minutes and has -0.4 Offensive Win Shares (please note the negative sign). Seriously, when Hasheem Thabeet makes you look bad by comparison, it's time to consider retirement.

    Good at what?

That's a serious question. I'm not just being a smart ass. Perkins is one of the worst offensive players in the entire league. He's a below average rebounder and he's no longer even good at playing defense. Oh yeah, and he's overpaid, too. I don't want him, but if I did, the vet minimum would be the most I'd be willing to throw at him.

I thought that amnestied players still use cap space.

The whole point of the amnesty is to take the player's salary off the cap. You still pay the guy.

What does Magnifier say every day in this situation.

I'm with you, 100%. There's no excuse for going over the cap now when it hurts so much. You are right and I've always been with you on that.

What's totally unfair is that we can only amnesty one, while Mexico can amnesty 11MM.
