The Orlando Predators (1-5) only trailed once on the way to their first win of the 2013 season, defeating the Pittsburgh Power (1-5) by a score of 52-38 on Saturday night.

The Power struck first on a 1-yard run by QB Jordan Jefferson, which set up by a 47-yard pass to P.J. Berry on fourth down. After missing the extra point attempt the Power went up 0-6. Not to be outdone, new starting QB Aaron Garcia marched the Predators down the field with short, decisive passes to set up a 2-yard run by Marlon Moye-Moore, and Orlando took the lead 7-6. The rest of the first quarter turned into a defensive battle, with neither team able to gain much traction.

The offense started to heat up for the Predators in the second quarter, as Aaron Garcia found his rhythm and led the Predators to 14 unanswered points at the beginning of the quarter, finishing off both drives with beautiful passes to Prechae Rodriguez and Jason Geathers respectively. The Power gained back some momentum by scoring a quick touchdown with less than five minuets remaining in the half. Orlando proved that the first half was all about them, when Garcia swiftly took back any momentum that the Power gained by scoring the very next possession on a 38-yard touchdown pass to Prechae Rodriguez, and the Predators took a 28-13 lead into the locker room, the first time they had the lead at halftime so far this season.

At the start of the third quarter, the Power knew that they had to create some pressure on defense to get back in the game, and they responded. On the first possession of the second half, Aaron Garcia was sacked and fumbled the ball at the Orlando 19 yard line, which was recovered by Gary Butler. The Power took advantage, and 6 plays later cut the Orlando lead to eight, 28-20. On the next Predator drive, the Power defense responded once again, when Garcia threw a pass down the sideline, which was picked off and returned for a touchdown by Alvin Jackson, to cut the Orlando lead, 28-26. Garcia's experience allowed the Predators to overcome the rocky start to the quarter and score to close out the period and extend the lead, 35-26.

The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair, as the Predators and Power traded scores in true Arena football fashion. However, in the end, Aaron Garcia was able to keep his team on top with 6 touchdowns thrown in total, and the Predators were able to come out with the win, 52-38.
