The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued a one-game suspension and fine to Montreal Impact midfielder Sanna Nyassi for his act of simulation in the 78th minute of the July 7 game against Chivas USA which had a material impact on the game. The Committee unanimously determined that Nyassi initially feigned contact by collapsing before the challenge from Chivas USA defender Mario De Luna, resulting in the awarding of a penalty kick (VIDEO).

Through the MLS Players Union, Nyassi submitted an appeal, and the Committee's decision was upheld. Nyassi will serve his suspension July 13 when the Impact travel to face the New York Red Bulls.

The Disciplinary Committee also issued an additional one-game suspension and fine to Chicago Fire midfielder Daniel Paladini for his reckless challenge that endangered the safety of his opponent, Sporting Kansas City forward Dom Dwyer, in the 93+ minute of the teams' game on July 7 (VIDEO). The referee issued a red card on the play, and the Committee determined that the offense was egregious and required additional action to protect player safety. Paladini will be suspended for two games: July 14 at Vancouver Whitecaps FC and July 20 against D.C. United.
