    ESPN Trade Machine approved:

    To Portland from New York

    C. Anthony (SF)
    I. Shumpert (SG)
    Draft picks

    To New York from Portland

    N. Batum
    W. Matthews
    T. Robinson

We become contenders in the West for the next two years. Then we move Carmelo after his contract expires and free up over 20million a year. We also can move Aldridge and have a boatload to rebuild around Lillard.

we'd also need Tyson Chandler. Knicks need to totally blow it up.

Chandler's contract is too large. But I agree that having him at C with RoLo would be the depth we need in the post!

Carmelo would pout if he were traded here.

That was a very ballsy move for suggesting such a trade. Although I think you might have something here.

Well this might be why the Blazers haven't won a championship since 1977.

Um no. Maybe we don't want overpaid ball stoppers who add nothing to the game but a jump shot. Carmelo does little else.

And listening to you and your 2K14 trades isn't gonna get us one either...

Dosen't matter. He has a 20 million dollar expiring deal and he would have great value.

Don't want Carmelo on this team.

And that won't be enough for him. Especially if you're adding players. You're pretty much saying Batum for Melo. and that's a joke.

So we blow up a good thing, make the playoffs, lose our draft pick for sure in a deep draft, lose Melo in FA, and gain money for a weak FA class.

Woah woah. Wait a second. If ANYONE is giving up picks, it's the team trading FOR Carmelo. Why the fuck are (or would) they giving us picks?

Even for a message board trade proposal this does not work on any level. I won't continue to speak of this trade.

But here's my own needle-moverthat you all can bash:

Something built around McCollum for Evan Turner. Turner's got one year left and their GM burned their bridges with him before the season. Hes having a good year and seems like a damn good fit next to Lillard. PDX needs a dynamic wing player to complement their scoring PG and PF. McCollum is a nice prospect but I don't see any Wade-like upside. Hes an undersized SG and those aren't very hard to come by, even when they are pretty good.

Why does Philly do it? Turner is on his way out and everyone knows it. Hes good and having a break out year but hes not a real star so they're not going to be getting any really great offers. Can't see anyone offering a prospect better than McCollum, and assuming they have a high pick (do they have still have their picks?) they can take one of the many good looking forwards. Meanwhile a Carter-Williams-McCollum backcourt looks pretty good.

I think we are moving the needle now... We have talent allover the court at every position.

I dunno. I really like Turner, but he does put up a lot of shots. Also, I don't think McCollum has any value until he's played a few games, anyway.

9-2 does move the needle in the right direction. In other news, New York looks like shit
