1) Aldridge and Lillard are shooting terribly. Lillard's percentage in the paint must be God awful. 2) We're not putting teams away. We need blowouts like Clips got yesterday and Spurs got tonight. 3) Our bench is still pretty bad. Mo Williams hides a lot of its flaws. Without him, they were pretty useless which is of course responsible for #2. CJ McCollum couldn't come back soon enough. And if Noah or Asik can be had for our scrubs, it would be a good deal.
I'm wondering when Lillard will finally start getting fouls at the rim. There isn't a PG in the league that can stop him from getting in the paint, then he gets bumped at the rim more often than not. Maybe if the team keeps winning, he'll start to get the superstar calls.
I agree that he should be getting more calls, but I'd say it's on him as well. He simply does not go up strong unless he's going to try to dunk. He needs to work on it if he really wants to be an elite PG.
We are not for real because we cant beat teams that are for real until we do and then they aren't for real anymore
He tries to go around the defenders a lot instead of going through them when they are reaching over his head. He should try to elevate like he's trying to dunk more often, and power through any arms that might be reaching over him to force the ref to make a call. Especially if he has a defender in the restricted area. I noticed that Rose the other night on his drives was really jumping high when he went to the basket and that made it easier for him to get his shot off. Of course Rose is a little bit better athlete than Dame so it probably is easier for him to do that. Maybe Dame burns all his juice just getting into the paint and can't elevate unless he has a clear lane to go for a dunk. I'm liking Dame's work on the floater. I think that's a shot he could really make use of.
