    Sun Dec 15th @ DET - 23 pts, 7 ast, 2 reb, 3stl, 2 TO -- GAME WINNER

    Tues Dec 17th @CLE - 36 pts, 10 ast, 8 reb, 1 blk, 3 TO -- GAME WINNER

    Wed Dec 18th @MIN - 36 pts, 6 ast, 6 reb, 3 stl, 1 blk, 3 TO

    Averaging this week - 31.7 pts, 7.7 ast, 5.3 reb, 2 stl, 2.7 TO

Blazers 2-1 so far this week with one more to play. If he has a good game vs NOP then he has a great shot at player of the week.

If he has a 25, 5 & 4 game he will be at 30 pts, 7 ast, 5 reb for the week

A Blazer win and we are 3-1 for the week.

Who was guarding him in the Minnesota game?

Who cares? I have never heard of a player NOT getting the award based upon who was guarding him. And for the record I dont think it would have mattered.

That's pretty sick. And that Detroit game he was not shooting well... but it's not about how many, it's about when.

It's great to know we have a guy who can (and wants to) take that shot. It's a relief, really.

I understand your uneasiness towards my question, but I think you've mistaken me for someone who trolls the board with these kinds of questions. AKA, questions that diminish the end result. "Well, what do you expect? he was guarded by Mike Penberthy. that guy blows"

Instead, I asked because if it was Rubio for most of the night, it's good that he scored that much due to how much the Minnesota fans say that Rubio is great at defense. I like how it appears that Lillard takes challenges personally, and rises to the occasion. LaMarcus has too, but didn't last night. *

*I'm not throwing him under the bus here either.

Agreed. I was especially impressed with his defense at the end of the game. It got to the point where Rubio looked afraid to pass the ball much less shoot it.

Of merit, Rubio is suppose to be good at defense. Trades have been suggested to acquire his piss poor shooting (or maybe it's just his passing, I forget). Rubio has been floated as a top, and franchise building PG in the NBA. I'd say that who guarded Lillard in Minnesota is quite relevant.

Dame's shooting hasn't been stellar for much of the season, but he is clearly doing much better of late. I am encouraged. This kid is a top 5 PG in the NBA, and I would not trade him for any other PG. I would be very happy with the Blazers for years to come with Dame at the point, no matter the results.

I don't know why we didn't force him to shoot more last night. Back way the hell off him and make him shoot. Too many times I saw a defender go for a pump fake or get up close enough for him to get by them. The guy can't shoot to save his life. Make him shoot. Why go for a pump fake? I would literally sit back five feet and dare him to make shots. You can tell he's afraid to shoot. He has zero confidence in his shot. I wish we would have taken advantage of that.

I didn't get that as well. You know he's not going to shoot it when he gets into the lane, and I can live with him taking 20 ft. jumpers. Only press him when he is at the 3 point line.

I wouldn't press him at all. The guy is super quick. If you get too close he'll go right by you. I would rather have Bricky beat us from the perimeter than watch him get into the paint or feed Pek/Love.

Yeah - it was kinda maddening to watch us expend so much effort to stay tight on Rubio, and fight over the screens. Go BEHIND the screens and sag off. Aren't we suppose to give up long 2-point jumpers?

He's really good at those herky jerky changes in direction that suck the defender in. He's quick as hell, but a smart defender won't bite on the pump fakes. The guy is just flat out horrible at shooting.

Looking at the games this week it probably comes down to Durant, Lillard and Love in the West this week. Probably more so Durant vs Lillard. They both play tonight (Durant @SAS and Lillard vs NOP) but here they are so far this week:

I would give the nod to Durant, even if they lose against the Spurs and the Blazers win tonight. Both are having great weeks, but Durants shooting an insanely better %.
