LaMarcus Aldridge is 23 points away from reaching 10,000 points and is 26 points shy of Jim Paxson (10,003) for 5th on the Trail Blazers all-time scoring list.

After the 2006-07 season we all knew that one of the two rookies we had was going to be breaking and setting Blazers records, seems like most of us were wrong on what rookie it would be.

As of 12/28 here is the list of the Blazers all time point scorers:

    1. Clyde Drexler* 18040
    2. Terry Porter 11330
    3. Clifford Robinson 10405
    4. Jerome Kersey 10067
    5. Jim Paxson 10003
    6. LaMarcus Aldridge 9977
    7. Geoff Petrie 9732
    8. Mychal Thompson 9215
    9. Rasheed Wallace 9119
    10. Sidney Wicks 8882

LaMarcus has a ways to go to catch Clyde, if he plays his whole career in a Blazers uni than he just might catch him. At this point though it seems pretty clear that he is at least going to end up being at minimum end up second on this list.

At scoring 20PP LMA only needs 68 more games to pass Porter. If he keeps his scoring up and gets it around 25 depending on his health we could have a #2 alltime scoring leader by the end of the year.

I think LaMarcus really likes getting things such as these records. It sounds silly but it could contribute to him wanting to resign here vs moving to Texas.

If LaMarcus won a title here and played out his whole career here he'd have a great chance of passing Clyde and going down as far and away the greatest player in team history. If he walked away today he might already be above Sheed as the greatest PF in team history.

I don't see him leaving the Blazers for a texas team if we offer him a 5 year max as long as we are a winning club. If we have a skid next year and don't make the playoffs then that might happen but i'll worry about that next year.

When we win the title this year and then give LA a max offer, he'll have no need or purpose to go elsewhere.

Whoa.... I'm going all mags on you guys.

Crap, could we handle having our two best players all-time leave for greener pastures in Houston?
