We all like to talk about rumors and trades, and I personally love playing around with the ESPN trade machine, but this is a pretty sad look at the aftermath of the Rudy Gay trade between Toronto and Sac. It's a video of the Raptors as they're getting the news of the trade in real time. You can see the raw emotion as the team realizes that some of their friends are leaving. Just kind of a cool look behind the scenes.
Quincy Acy, 2nd rounder in his 2nd year trying to survive, feels like crying because the Raptors have rejected him. Aaron Gray, a secure veteran, puts on a brave smiling face and hugs everyone.
thanks for sharing the video. It's a side of the NBA we don't think about or know much about. JLPRK, good summary of the middle of the video.
There is absolutely that emotional component to any trade and to the game itself. These guys are human and form tights bonds with people they basically live with for 8 months out of the year. They know that has to exist with the business aspect of the game but that doesn't make it any easier.
We will not be making a marginal trade, but think Olshey would pull the trigger on a deal if it would put us over the top.
Thanks for sharing this. It was beautiful to see the range of emotions. I love Amir Johnson. Always liked his game. What happened at the RG doesn't affect that... he's solid.
We may be already there. Beating OKC twice this year?? Beating the Rockets, the Spurs, the Warriors, and the Pacers? A 4-0 road trip back east? A ranking in the top 3? A shooting guard that can consistently hit game-winning shots? Are you kidding me? This team is a force to be reckoned with.
