The roster is packed with veterans of the World Cup qualifying campaign as a total of 10 players helped the United States advance to the finals for the seventh-consecutive time. At the other end of the spectrum, nine players will be looking to earn their first cap for the Senior Team.

    With Brazil 2014 approaching,
January camp offers up taste of what's to come for USMNT

Looking ahead to Saturday night’s US national team friendly against South Korea (5 pm ET, ESPN2/UniMas) it’s hard to draw a greater contrast than to go back four years to the first game on the calendar the last time the USMNT began a World Cup year.

While the game between the US and Honduras was played in the same venue (then known as the Home Depot Center, now known as StubHub Center), that’s where the similarities pretty much end. For starters, on Saturday night, the seats will be filled.

CARSON, Calif. – Chris Wondolowski made his case for a role in Brazil on Saturday, scoring both goals as the US national team wrapped up its annual January camp with a 2-0 decision over Korea Republic at sold-out StubHub Center.

Jurgen Klinsmann names 19 MLS players to USMNT roster for Mexico friendly

US men's national team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann on Wednesday named an MLS-heavy 22-man squad ahead of the April 2 World Cup tuneup match against eternal rivals Mexico (8 pm ET, ESPN and UniMas).

Bayern Munich teenager Julian Green, whose highly publicized switch to play for the US was approved by FIFA on Monday, is the only European-based played named to the roster. He'll be looking to earn his first senior cap since committing his international future to the US.

Since the match vs. Mexico does not fall on a FIFA fixture date, clubs were not required to release players, leading Klinsmann to call up 19 MLS players and two others based in Mexico (DaMarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco) for the match at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
