There was a lot of talk before the draft this year about this, and how CJ was saying that he almost didn't want to be taken earlier than the Blazers, b/c he felt it would be such a good situation with Lillard (they'd been texting all through the year and the draft process)
The article gets us to read it with the promise in the title that the two players go way back, meaning, about 10 years? Soon it admits that the two began, only about 20 months ago, twittering. Lillard, already finished with years of college and moving up the draft charts, was no doubt gaining dozens of fair-weather friends, including golddiggers. Later it became by e-mail, later phone. Does the article ever fulfill its promise and tell us when they physically met, or would that prove the title wrong? I can't find it in the article. Did they meet at McCollum's press conference a few days after the draft, only 6 months ago?
