So if Portland beats Houston, is Terry the coach of the west? We would be tied with SA at the halfway mark. What is the tie breaker? Head to head?

I think the team is on a mission to see to it that he gets that position. I think that's some if not all the cause of their recent play.

In the end, it may cause 1,2 and maybe 3 of them landing a spot in it.

    Love to see Nic go.

That's great... but I hope they will keep going after it!

I think they are for real. It starts with Aldridge and he is completely a new man. Very proud of the change he has made. And Nic is just following suit. The others Damian, Wesley, Robin were already there.

I was halfway joking. They seem to always find some motivation for something. Wes just seems like the instigator of it all. And I mean that in a very good way.

Unfortunately Kevin Love set a "stats are sometimes so good that they matter more than a bad record" standard that the coaches will likely apply to Cousins.

Yeah, I don't see any way that Nic makes it this year. Everyone is talking about Lance Stephenson and not Nic.

Stott is the logical choice to win by a sweep, and there is no compelling argument otherwise.

He's still stealing "glue guy" buzz from Batum, if not a potential AS spot.

Batum would be an AS lock if the Blazers and Pacers switched conferences. In the west Batum's impact is just too swamped by other star power. As it is there is a good chance the Pacers will have 4 All-stars.

An interesting thought. In a completely healthy WC (Paul, Kobe and Westbrook not being hurt), it's completely possible that the team with a top 3 record in the league (or Western conference, depending on how they finish before All Star break) could only have 1 player on the team.

Thanks you completely understood my point. Right now Lance is the glue guy that everyone is talking about, not Nic. I'm not saying that Lance is taking Nic's spot, just that he's the one getting most of the publicity for being a threat to drop a triple double every night. It's stealing some of Batum's thunder.

Good. More than anyone else on the team, Nic could use a week off. I am all for him getting his due, but I would prefer he sits on a beach somewhere and rest. Between his dislocated finger and his short offseason he could use a break.

Dude he has no shot at making the team, even with publicity. There are entirely too many talented players in the west right now. Dame should be a lock but with how many talented guards there are, he could realistically not make it if Paul and Westbrook come back.

    Last years team was

    Kobe (starters)
    Blake (starters)
    Paul (starters)
    Howard (starters)
    Durant (starters)
    Aldridge
    Duncan
    Harden
    Lee
    Parker
    Randolph
    Westbrook

I don't expect Randolph or Lee to make it. Duncan isn't putting up great numbers, but how do you keep him off the team with the way the Spurs are playing? Realistically I expect the starters to be:

    Durant
    Howard
    Blake
    Kobe
    Curry

And the reserves will probably be:

    Aldridge
    Dame
    Harden
    Paul
    Dirk
    Cousins
    Duncan

The coaches might put in Parker instead of Duncan, but I doubt it. A lot hinges on whether Paul or Kobe can play. If those two sit, I have no idea who Stern will name as replacements. Probably Parker and maybe Westbrook if he's back and healthy.

Love is 4th is scoring, 2nd in rebounding, 4th in PER. He's a lock.

So maybe Love over Dirk? Or is it between Love and Cousins?
