Rockets Re-Assign Covington to the Vipers

    Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has re-assigned forward Robert Covington to Houston's single-affiliation NBA D-League partner Rio Grande Valley.

    Covington (6-9, 215, Tennessee State), who has appeared in five games with the Rockets in 2013-14, has averaged 21.4 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.35 steals and 1.30 blocks in 23 games (22 starts) with Rio Grande Valley this season.

    Covington was named to the NBA D-League All-Star Game, which will be played on Saturday, Feb. 15, at Sprint Arena inside NBA All-Star Jam Session at New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
