Someone mentioned the swagger was gone from this team. Hopefully this weekend Dame and LA can bring it back!

I'll believe it when I see it. Starting to be all talk from the team, and no results.

They have confidence. What they need is rest and focus. Spurs coming up on Wednesday.

Exactly. The problem may be the opposite, over-confidence. The Oregonian always judges players on words not deeds, because they're writers not fans.

While fans tend to react to their team losing close games against three of the best teams in the league by shitting bricks and demanding hare-brained trades.

Still, it's better to evaluate the team on wins or losses, however exaggerated, than on quotes a reporter can get them to say.

Really glad he was hitting his threes in the All-Star game. Hopefully that translates to the rest of the season.

That picture is one reason I dislike dictator Stern. Just because fat Stern looks best in a suit, he forces his personal choice on 450 sweaty athletes walking out of the gym.

I'm sure they shower before putting on the suit.

    At least, I hope.

How many of you feel the issue with the team was fatigue? How many of you feel they become complacent?

I don't think it's either. I just think they aren't as good as their record.

Silly quote. You are only as good as your record.

Maybe they were the best they could be coming out of the gate. Then other teams caught up.

And learned how to gameplan against the Blazers? What a concept.

Then they should just take "overachieve" out of the vernacular of sports, then. :)

Yeah, fatigue has partly contributed to our not-so-great last 15 or so games.

But I agree with the person who started this thread...I think the "intangible" here is truly a loss of confidence. It's almost like you could see the demeanor change on the faces of the team after a couple of those close-game losses.

I was screaming at my TV "You guys are still really good, don't let it get you down".

But it seems like it did.

Hopefully that mojo comes back. Unfortunately, it will be a little harder now, with the looming injuries. Here's hoping that the old 1970s song, "Slip Sliding Away" stays just an old 1970s song.

    GO BLAZERS!
