He really seemed like a good guy. Hope he gets the punishment he deserves, if guilty.

    Update: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/10743275/police-say-dante-cunningham-sent-terroristic-level-texts

Well, whatever threats he made, it was pretty stupid to send them by text, especially when doing so violated a restraining order. Can't even use the he-said, she-said defense when the police have complete access to everything he sent.

"In his fifth year in the league, Cunningham is averaging 6.1 points and 4.1 rebounds. He is set to become a free agent on July 1, after completing the final year of a contract that pays him $2.1 million this season."

Those could end up being some very costly text messages. When you're a superstar, you can get away with being a dick, an asshole and even a criminal. Not so much when you're a second-stringer on a lottery team.

It's costly to the girlfriend, too. Next time she makes life hell for a boyfriend, she won't be living rich.

Unless the police have close-up video of him sending those texts with a timestamp on the video that's weak evidence.

I saw on Matlock how you can easily transfer fingerprints with tape. :devilwink:

And are we even sure that it's her throat? Maybe DNA tests can confirm that.

We're far too removed from the situation to be casting blame. :tsktsk:

That's a job for the New Commissioner, Mr. Silver.

What happened to freedom. If you can't even yell, "I'm going to kill you!" then half of the Off-Topic board will melt like a day-old Slushie.

You can, just not in a crowded theater. I think I read that somewhere, so it must be true. Oh, and you can't text it either, especially not in a crowded theater where you are supposed to silence your cell phones.

Well if he's a terrorist, like the police say, then I hope they ship his ass to gitmo where he belongs.

Of course he's a terrorist. The police wouldn't arrest someone if they weren't guilty. Ask anyone.

My mother yelled at me, "I'm going to kill you" many times in family arguments. Yet I honor that terrorist with her initials jlprk.

Why has the tribe's family system ranked higher than the government's legal system for thousands of years?

Lawyers and judges must have become wiser than we the people they govern.
