This is the only site I visit where I constantly get pop-ups. A little sidebar that constantly comes out and says 'hot deals'. How do I stop this annoyance?
I agree. Do you want to make real money without working a 9-5 job? Well I can turn your $40 into a life time investment that will guarantee you anywhere from $500 to $1000 every WEEK, just by reading books at home! If you are interested, email shawnwillingham13@gmail.com and he will explain everything you need to know step by step. And you can hop on the money train as well.
Really? Looks like 3/4 of a second to fetch the page, and a couple more seconds to fetch all the images people link to on the page. We don't host the images or videos, those use someone else's bandwidth (whoever hosts them)
whenever I've gotten pop up ads (and the like) and Denny tells me there's no pop up ads on here, I think he's full of shit...and then I do a hard core virus scan (pun intended) and find out that I had downloaded some shit. Usually one of those damn ad sense type programs, where they highlight certain words on pages. And so far, 95% of the programs originated from download.com I've learned that if I download something from there, I HAVE to manually pick the programs that go with the main file I'm downloading, or just no longer download stuff from there anymore.
Sure lets not talk about how the site barely loads during active game threads, consistently taking 20+ seconds to even get to the point where I'm seeing text.
I had that problem for a while, but it turned out to be something messed up with my computer. Now even on my older laptop (it's going on 5 years old) there's no delays with it. did I say that right Denny? Do I get my raise?
Do tell. I suppose it's possible my stock, brand new laptop has something wrong with it, and my iPad, and my iPhone... But I'm skeptical.
The site is hosted at a top quality hosting facility with outstanding bandwidth. Nobody's ever complained until now about the site being slow. Not even on february 2nd, when there were over 1000 people viewing the Blazers forum, and another 300 viewing the rest of the site. If the bandwidth or server performance were off, I'm sure I'd be hearing about it from lots of people. But when I hear it from one person, the likely reason is something to do with that person's computer, network connection, ISP, DNS server, etc. That 3/4 second page load I showed you was from 15 router hops and about 500 miles of physical distance the data travelled.
That 2.64 seconds to fully render the page was with browser cache turned off. With the cache enabled, I consistently see sub 1 second page loads.
Hmm... I never have that problem. Not even on my phone. And if there's pop-ups, I would have no idea because I run ad blocker.
