Reno Bighorns Lose Close to Fort Wayne in First Playoff Game

    The Reno Bighorns (8th seed) lost a close game against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (1st seed) in their first match up of the NBA D-League playoffs, 97-96 at the Reno Events Center Friday afternoon. The Reno Bighorns came out on top after the first quarter 25-21 against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Reno led the entire quarter with their biggest lead at 8 points.
    The Mad Ants took the lead in the second quarter with the help of Tony Mitchell's 15 points and two blocks. Mo Charlo ended the half strong for the Bighorns with 11 points and 3 rebounds. KC Rivers also added 9 points. To closde out the half, Fort Wayne was on top, 48-46.

    In the third quarter the two teams went back and forth and were tied up twice in the quarter. The Mad Ants' biggest lead was 5 points.

    Reno went on an 11-0 run (11:08-8:41) to start out the fourth quarter. DeQuan Jones made a huge impact for the Bighorns in the fourth quarter. The Bighorns led by 10 points with just four minutes to play, but the Mad Ants surged back and took the lead on Tim Ohlbrect's lay-up with 5.3 seconds left in the game.

    Mo Charlo ended with a game-high 22 points and 6 rebounds. KC Rivers had 19 points and Willie Reed finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds.

    Matt Bouldin gave the Mad Ants 20 points and 7 rebounds. Tony Mitchell contributed 17 points to seal the win over the Bighorns.
