Since we're talking about all things Rockets right now... Beards become more attractive when they are rare! https://www.sciencenews.org/blog/scicurious/beard-only-hot-because-it’s-not-cool
I hate how they call Harden "The Beard". Dude fucking copped that from the real "beard", the late Brian Wilson, former closer for the San Francisco Giants. The Beard became well-known during the Giants' 2010 World Series campaign.
Same with the red Sox last year, peeps out here thought they were so fucking clever with "fear the beard" shirts and whatnot, fucking pathetic
When we defeat Houston, I want to see Rolo stand over atop Harden and scalp his beard to wear as a trophy from the kill.
The best part about that is I could see rolo super gluing the scalped beard to his face and giving an interview.
I really hope he has a great series! He's quickly climbing my "favorite player" ladder. I had a feeling he'd start really showing what he's capable of by the end of the season (said as much during pre-season). I think he could be even further along if Stotts hadn't yanked him around as much as he did. In theory I understand why he did, but it was apparent early on that Robinson had more skills than Leonard.
In so many ways we were robbed. I think any basketball fan would have loved to have seen a Roy/Harden matchup. Those two going at one another would have been something to behold. Then again, a Roy/Lillard backcourt? To quote my favorite poster ever: "Uh Oh".
If I were Stotts I would tell T-Rob that if he takes a single shot outside of eight feet, he's yanking him. If he tries to dribble with the ball to make a play, he's yanking him. His job is to crash the boards and shoot put-backs. Expend all the energy he can and then ask for a blow. Screw it, just make it easy and bring in Buck Williams for the playoffs to be his personal playoff coach.
I disagree. Robinson has shown a knack for creating easy scoring opportunities for others. And, despite the small sample size, he shoots the same percentage as LMA in the mid-range (10-14'). If he's left open and everybody is covered, take the shot, with the caveat that he only gets two misses from that range. We certainly don't want him doing too much with the ball, but I wouldn't handcuff him with rules either.
To paraphrase Amy Adams' character in "Talladega Nights": "Thomas Robinson is not a thinker; Thomas Robinson is a player." Put him in a position where he just reacts, he doesn't think. Make the game simple for him and let his physical abilities take over.
But by telling him where to shoot and not to shoot from, you turn him from a player into a thinker, worrying about when he should and shouldn't be taking a shot from and how quickly he'll get pulled.
Agreed. Precisely. If we had been playing him 15mpg since mid-December then I think he'd be much further along in his ability to react without thinking. Still, I like his progression and am really looking forward to watching him in the POs and next season.
