...the greatest turnaround in Blazer history.

Congratulations to Terry Stotts and the Blazers for breaking the record for largest increase in wins, 33 to 54. Twenty one additional wins!

Terry Stotts did an outstanding job. I can't believe after the year this team had how anyone could start any derogatory posts about the man on a very special evening.

But great year for the team. How can you not be proud of these guys. No matter how they do versus Houston. They are easy to love.

Thank you! I have been begging the Blazers to sell RoLo wigs (cheap ones in red, black and white) all season!

I was gonna go buy some Blazer themed Nipple Tassels for the playoffs... but you would not believe the cost of those things.

If at the beginning of the season you would have asked me which was more likely, 28-54 or 54-28, I would have chosen the former.

Thank you Blazers, for proving me so wrong. What a magical regular season. I'll enjoy it tonight and then we focus on Houston!

    I agree. I'm loving it

That's because you weren't paying attention. We had a great starting lineup last season (20-15 record at one point) that just got tired by the end of the season because Nolan Smith and Luke Babbitt were "backing them up." Our starting lineup was better than many that made the playoffs last season. We just didn't have a bench. Adding vets like Mo and Wright plus a young talent in Robinson immediately made our bench World's better. Also bringing in a legit center like Lopez who was coming off a good season with New Orleans made things even more promising. Plus, we were due for an improved second year Lillard. It was obvious to people like me and magnifier that we were going to be a much better team. I predicted 3 seed. Magnifier picked 2-4 seed. Nate Bishop correctly picked 5 seed. The people who were paying attention knew we were going to have a great season. 28-54 more likely? Are you kidding me?

I have to give most of the credit to the guys who got us a Real Center and upgraded the bench, and of course the new medical/training staff who kept our players nearly injury-free compared to previous seasons.

Stotts did a great job of coaching for sure, but he did a great job last year too. I don't think he did much different, which is why it paid off once he got some better players.

I think next year we'll be smooth as silk.

Well you also said the Lakers would make the playoffs so not everyone bats a thousand.

I agree Eric. I pretty much saw the same thing. We had an exceptional starting five last year, and if we'd had any bench whatsoever I think we would have made the playoffs. The starters are even better this year with Rolo. I don't mean to marginalize anyone, but the writing was definitely on the wall.

I'm too lazy to look them up from the beginning of the season, but I was REALLY pessimistic. Embarrassingly so. I thought we would be stuck in mediocrity. Instead, I was rewarded with one of the most amazing regular seasons of my Blazer fandom, which stretches all the way back to the beginning.

This team made me a believer. We may not do much this post season, but it shouldn't dim the incredible accomplishment of this year. I just want to enjoy the magic of the past six months before the playoffs and thank the team. Just amazing. I've never enjoyed being so wrong.

    Go Blazers!

Okay, usually I have a policy of not responding to your posts, because you post in character as a moron, but here you seem to have dropped the mask and make a terrific point.

Look at how unbelievably healthy we've been. It's no coincidence we changed training staffs. You're 100% right that it has been an overlooked key to our success.

Funny how that works though, right? We change the training staff and IMMEDIATELY see a drastic change in the health of the team.

Yeah, funny that 90% of us have been begging for the Blazers to change their training staff for the last 5 years.

Furthermore, if anything, this style of basketball should garner more injuries. Batum and Lillard are two of the players in the NBA who have covered the most mileage, we play our starters HEAVY minutes, and there's a lot more passing, cutting, moving without the ball and crashing the boards than there was under McMillan.
