Nuno Pitching Today

Thought it would be Tanaka guess he'll pitch the opener in Boston. At least the game is on MLB. Watched game two on Sun Sports Statts, Anderson and Kalas, hate listening to them Nunos ERA is flat out scary, Yankees need a W today.

 

Auditions for 5th starter with Nova to the DL. I wonder if they move Pineda to the 3rd slot in the rotation to keep the separation between Tanaka and Kuroda.

 

Checking the Schedule ahead through to the next Rays Series there are some blanks on the Yankee Pitching side, with Moday being an off day my guess would be they have something planned.

 

Except now subtract Nova from splitting up Kuroda and Tanaka ( similar stuff), likely need to move Pineda into the 3 hole, and 5 hole will be by committee until a solution is found.

 

...Phelps.

 

He'll get a shot, so will Nuno. Wouldn't be surprised to see Betances get a start this year.

 

I think a lot depends on what Nuno does today.

 

Interesting, then do you have 2 lefties back to back (5-1)?

 

...Phelps was barely beat out by Pineda during ST for the final spot.

 

That was ST Phelps, not the cannon fodder version we've seen thus far.

 

...that was the reliever Phelps. Probably the only reason he's not starting today is because he just pitched night before last.

 

Well I was happy with Nuno first time through the order.

 

...lol. What about his start before that? His ERA is 6.75. Phelps' ERA is 4.66.

...both pitchers had one bad short outing and I like Nuno too and he looked good today, but I wouldn't be surprised if Phelps gets the nod over Nuno...we'll see.




...and oh, fwiw, I do agree that Betances may be starting before the year is over.
