Fuck it. You all don't know me, so I can say this anonymously. Right now, I'm tearing up. I knew he wasn't well, but this news still hit me like a ton of bricks. Godspeed on your journey, Dr. Jack. Bless you.
And for those too young to remember, there would have been no Blazermania without this man. Portland owes him everything.
Seems odd to me that that is the only mention of it on twitter I've seen so far. Seems like one of the like 10 writers covering the Blazers would have mentioned something, or trailblazers themselves. Not that it necessarily means something, just trying to think of a way it's not true?
I was going to suggest before game two that Stotts should don the plaid throughout the playoffs. Now I really think he should.
As someone who has battled my own bugs, I will look to humor. Since Vessey reported it there is a better than 85% chance Dr Jack is actually in the Bahamas parasailing
Jack was before my time. I was born in 81 and I didn't really start following the team until I was around 11 or 12. I didn't even really get to appreciate the Adelman teams, but I respect what those men did for our city and it's extremely sad that one of the All-Time greats is nearing the finish line.
Not only can you think of him as our championship coach, you can also think of him as a pioneer in the "Keep Portland Weird" movement....
Does Bill Walton do Twitter? Has he mentioned it? A few years ago Walton wrote an ESPN column, but the pain made him retire. I'm just looking for a second source.
