Wenger's wild summer continues off the heels of signing Alexis Sanchez and possibly Mathieu Debuchy with several sources reporting strong interest in German box-to-box midfielder Sami Khedira (who has supposedly rejected a contract extension from Real Madrid). Khedira is close friends with Mesut Ozil. The caveat is that Khedira is coming-off injury and Real are looking to get about £25-million for him (with his wage demands in the £150k-week range). Khedira isn't a pure defensive midfielder like Schneiderlin but could play that role for Arsenal (as Arteta has).

Some outlets are reporting that we've come to terms with Khedira and a transfer is happening. Hope so!

Lots of conflicting reports. Some have us agreeing for a transfer just below £20-million, another has his agent claiming no contact has been made, another saying Arsenal haven't submitted a bit. Podolski was caught yelling out "Arsenal!" when Sami was asked where he'd be playing next season during a post-WC interview. Who knows?

Although Los Blancos thinks Arsenal will announce his arrival today, more sources are indicating that talks between us and Khedira have broken down over wage demands and we're now focusing elsewhere. Morgan Schneiderlin and capped Portuguese national William Carvalho possible targets.

Kike Marin, the reporter who first broke that Arsenal's talks with Khedira we're finished, claims we're still after Morgan Schneiderlein.

Based on the fact that Wenger has actually said that he'll target French nationals this summer it seems like something we'd be working on.

There might be interest in Carvalho but he has a huge buyout clause. He's also very young and we seem to be preferring experienced players lately.

William Carvalho would be my choice. I don't think Khedira is a real DM, whereas William is a fucking beast in the midfield.

I don't really know. There's no way these rumors were all made up. There were way too many top journalists confirming Arsenal-Khedira contact. Ornstein being one of them - He's pretty damn reliable. I'd prefer to have a move defense-minded player, but whatever. I wouldn't mind risking Chambers as a CDM either, I just don't think it's a good idea to keep playing Arteta. He's lost a lot of pace.
