The MIN thread made me think of this. There are a number of teams I've hated, and will always hate. I don't think I'll ever NOT hate these teams: PHX - Hated Dan Majerle. Later I hated Amare & D'Antoni. MIN - Hated KG, Saunders, and the whole organization. Such a stupid team. NJN - Hated Kidd/Jefferson/Martin. Still hate them in BKN. OKC - They shouldn't exist. I hate them to their core. Durant is overrated. Back during the Drexler days I hated the Bulls and the Jazz. Those two teams and PHX were my most despised teams. But after that era I came to appreciate what Jordan/Pippen did, and really came to respect Jerry Sloan. I suppose if one of the teams mentioned above were to get a coach on the level of Sloan/Pops, and run with him for decades, that might erase some of the hate I have for those teams...but I don't see it happening any time soon. So, aside from the Lakers, what team(s) do you have an irreconcilable hatred for?
I hate every Western team. I always root for us and whatever eastern team (Besides Indiana and Chicago) is playing a western team.
It's not really irreconcilable, but I seem to really enjoy watching HOU fail. I hate Harden and Beverley, and watching Morey trip over himself with every move is amusing to me.
lakers okc wolves mavs nuggets rockets clippers used to hate the jazz but i think that was just a karl malone thing
Teams that I hate: Lakers Rockets Timberwolves Celtics Thunder (fuck you Clay Bennet) Utah Teams that I like other than the Blazers: Golden State Indiana pacers San Antonio (before the bush league Snake/Air Conditioner incidents)
How can you hate Cleveland? That city has had to put up with so much shit. I hope they win a championship next year....get it out of the way before the blazers are at their peak.
I am free from hate when it comes to other teams and there are some I actively like, at various times. The Lakers' fanbase though...
It waxes and wanes. I didn't hate the Vlade/Threatt Lakers, but loathed the Phil Jackson Lakers. Right now I really seriously dislike the Rockets and OKC, and to a lesser extent the Clippers (who were my second fave team when they had Bo "not Travis" Outlaw) and Golden State (am I alone in this? I don't care. Still, Mark Jackson was a major cause of my hatred and I like Kerr, so that might change). I dislike that the Suns seem to pwn us, but the actual team can't rouse much hatred. Now Kobe's just a cranky old man I can't even hate him like I used to. I kind of... identify with him: raging against the dying of the light, surrounded by imbeciles... Oh yeah, for some reason I don't like the Pacers. Which is odd, because they're a small market team who've done it the right way, drafting cautiously, developing their players. And I really like Hibbert. But de gustibus non est disputandum.
Lakers from early 2000s, Shaq/Kobe/Phil . . . easily my most hated. Followed by Malone/Stockton/Sloan (dirty) Jazz teams
Golden State is one of the teams I currently actively like outside of Portland. I like Steph Curry, I like the style of team they've built (lots of passing with Curry, Iguodala and Bogut) and I like that they're a perennially downtrodden team (in my lifetime) that is finally relevant.
I buy obscure, hipster style jerseys. I will never buy the following teams because I hate them: L*kers OKC Thunder Seattle Supersonics Golden State Warriors
in order of most hate to least L*kers houston okc clips min Golden state phx Dont care about east because the all suck.
