To show they're better than teams like Minni, Utah, and Denver. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/1...e-gold-tabs-collars-indicate-teams-won-titles
It's funny how they mention Portland as one of the 1 title teams. What about...wait, is Portland and Dallas the only single title win teams (not counting the Zombie Sonics..btw, if they put the gold patch on the Zombie Sonics uniforms...)?
Nope, Portland and Dallas aren't the only single winners. St Louis Hawks, Bucks, Kings, Bullets, and Bullets (the original). Dang, Boston is 17-4 in 21 in the NBA Finals.
Thats stupid but whatever. If they are going to do something like this they should put the dates in small print on the back of the jerseys under the name of the year they won the championship.
Really fucking stupid. I think the CURRENT champions should have some sort of alterations to their jersey, like gold lining on the outside of the jerseys, kind of like a Championship Belt.
I like the idea but I think just having the gold band with nothing else isn't that great. There should be a way to signify the current champ and how many titles the club has won overall in the tab.
I dont like the stars the soccer teams use over in Europe. Maybe a different color tag depending on how many the team has won.
Previous championships have nothing to do with the current team/players and often little to do with current management. If they want to put a gold star on the neck for the current champions, OK I guess, but otherwise this is a dumb idea. If the goal is to make fans of teams who haven't won the championship, or haven't won it in one or two generations feel worse (BTW: that's most teams over the last 20 or so years), mission accomplished.
