Bad year for Malaysia Air. This one may have been shot down though. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28354856
Anton Gerashenko, an adviser to Ukraine’s Interior Minister, said on his Facebook page the plane was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters (33,000 feet) when it was hit by a missile fired from a Buk launcher.
No one is taking credit yet, I bet it was a Russian mistake or a frame job to try and ignite a conflict.
Russia is claiming that this was an attempt by Ukraine to kill Putin because he was suppose to fly in that area. Uh huh.
<crackle> Good evening, this is your captain speaking, welcome aboard Malaysia Airlines flight 17. Today we will be cruising at 10,000 metres. Our flight path will take us over Crimea, Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, with a quick swoop over the Andes Mountains followed by a lingering, low circle off the West coast of Australia. If any passengers would prefer to jump right the fuck out of this plane onto the tarmac I wouldn't blame you.
More than 100 of the world's leading AIDS experts are believed to have been killed as they travelled aboard the flight to an international conference in Melbourne. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...ne-crashes-on-Ukraine-Russia-border-live.html
My sister in law travelled to this conference. At least one prominent speaker she knew was on the plane.
Ok looks like it was the Russian aligned rebels being trigger happy trying to shoot down cargo jets. They have recently shot down cargo jets in the region and the evidence is mounting against them to the point of it being obviously more than a coincidence...... so why the fuck were civilian jets being routed over this unstable conflict region in the first place?
Civilian jets flew over Iraq and Afghanistan when we were at war there. There are very few missile systems that can reach airliners. For Russia to give such an advanced system to rebels is reprehensible.
