I would pick him up. I think he'd be a great third point guard. Someone young that could play behind Dame and Blake.

Pick him up just to cheese off the Lakers.

I hope we cut Crabbe ASAP and sign Marshall. I think he'd quickly become our 2nd units floor general.

Would love to add him over Crabbe personally. And while he'll never be a good defender, he's someone you can play alongside dame ok because he has the size to cover 2s

Exactly. I would be really happy with him as a future backup who can play with Lillard.

What money do we have to sign him? We used our BAE on BlAkE.

We wouldn't necessarily need money to sign him.

So essentially we can make a claim for his current contract, which is the vet minimum I believe. If another team makes a similar claim, it would then come down to records.

Don't we need cap space to make an offer on a waived player?

Not if that player is on a minimum salary contract, which I think Marshall is.

Would he want to sign as a 3rd string PG when he could be 2nd somewhere else?

Marshall averaged 11 assists per 36 minutes last year and shot 40% from 3. Decent numbers!

If you pick him up off waivers, it's not his choice.

Why would the Lakers want to cut him and then possibly bring him back on a lower salary contract if he is already making the minimum?

Marshall has the sort of floor-vision that Dame just doesn't have. Having these guys as our PGs would give us two entirely different ways to run the offense. Marshall with Barton, Robinson, and even Leonard would be a high-energy, potentially potent (!) offensive unit.

And Marshall could play with either Dame or Blake.

I have no worldly idea. Aren't they already under the cap? It can't be about clear cap space...

If Marshall already has a minimum salary, why would the Lakers waive him and have interest in resigning him to a new contract? He'd still be on his rookie contract which is not considered minimum is it?

I guess what I mean by that is I can't believe he would be on a minimum contract at the moment then.
