I like this signing. 71 had been calling for it for awhile. Pretty good speed, and a right shot which we desperately needed up front. Should be able to give us Pouliot production and fill out the top 9 wing spots. Third line look a lot better than it did yesterday.

Out: Richards, Boyle, Dorsett, Pouliot, Stralman
In: Lombardi, Stemp, Glass, Miller as a regular, Boyle

    Interesting...

For .800k you really can't go wrong, he should be good for 12-15g, maybe more. I'm glad they didn't pass him over. Put him with Lombardi/D.Moore or Lombardi/Miller.

Happy with this deal. Right handed shot, which we desperately need.

should of went after vrbata or heatley to replace pouliot. david booth is still available if im not mistaken. wouldnt of hurt to take a waiver on a guy like booth who could produce again under the right system. I"m shockd that heatley took 1 million total but thats probably because he enjoys cali and knows if he can bounce back that hell get 20 mil over 4 year next off season...

we literally let vrbata slip through our hands though considering how cheap he signed for and the term as well.

you really will never know if in deed we let someone slip through ...perhaps Vrbata didn't want to come to NY

Vrbata got $5m per year. With what cap space would we have used to sign him?? Stempniak at 900k is fine.
