So glad I stayed up to watch that embarrassing show the Yankees put on. If they don't upgrade this offense forget it. Roberts and Johnson should not be on this team and don't get me started on Ichiro. We need a HR hitter in RF. They also need to get rid of Thornton. Two lefties last night and 2 RBI singles.

That is it for now. Tonight should be more fun with Whitley on the mound.

If I told you how I really felt about this team my words would probably get me kicked off this forum. I can't watch a little league team night after night.

It's simply just a weak lineup. No power at all. They need to add something for sure.

My vocabulary went to the South Pole after seeing Thornton give it up.

Matt Thorton should not be on this team
    - he was the one who faced two batters and gave up two hits in relief to give the Rangers a 4-2 lead......what's wrong with you?.... this guy has consistently been the least effective reliever on the team while being the PRIMARY LEFTY - HE SUCKS. This team still has a 200 mil payroll and still doesn't have a solid effective lefty in the bullpen.
....and, lets be FAIR, Jeter's ground ball DP with the base loaded bottom 5th sealed the Yanks's fate. Maybe Jetes should've been looking for a pitch to pull HIGH into the outfield for at least a sac fly? This would've also given the next hitter a chance to drive in a run or two. Jeter is not a little man and I've been saying for years that as great a player as he's been, he doesn't pull the ball (to left field) enough with authority. When was the last time you can envision seeing Jeter pulling a double (or HR), into left field? How often? Think about it.

3000th hit maybe? I do agree though that with bases loaded and one out you have to be looking to get one in the air instead of trying to drive one through the infield the opposite way.

...if you take another look at his swing, it sure appeared that DJ was trying to get the ball airborne.

Thorton is a long list of left handed crap Cashman has brought to the pen going back to before Cook.

...Thornton comes in, throws one pitch, gets the final out. ERA drops to 2.91...What a pick up by Cashman.
