Yep, church Vacation Bible School programs are dangerous, and if left unchecked will lead to the downfall of society. It's a good thing there are open-minded people around to protect our children from these vicious predators.

Children are not sinners. They don't need to be brainwashed into thinking only through jesus, and spreading the word of jesus will they know happiness.

I don't see a problem with this, if more children can walk on water there would be less drownings.

They have the free speech rights to do so.

I have the free speech right to tell them to STFU.

Everyone sins, even children. I have yet to meet a child who is never selfish or deceitful.

If you think that "happiness" is the aim of Christianity, then you're way off.

    I define happiness as:

You don't need to be indoctrinated by jesus, to know that your parents love you. To know that you can make friends without believing in god(s). That love and compassion do not require asking for forgiveness from a man who died ~2000 years ago.

Obviously, the intentionally inflammatory aspect of that is a bit different from a VBS. But no, if some humanistic group sight to promote atheistic humanism to children, I don't think there would be anything wrong with it. I'd disagree with it, but I certainly wouldn't protest it.

Hmmm I would. Young children should not be publicly targeted by any agenda, religious or secular.

Young children are immersed in secular humanism at the point of a gun (truancy laws). It's federal/nationwide and systematic.

I'm not sure there's a better way to do it, but the graduation and literacy rates aren't so hot.

In the old days, the communities built their own schools and hired the teacher.

even if a parent thinks public school has an anti-religious agenda (which is bullshit) they have the option of home or private school.

Cant read the article to get the whole story but I dont have a problem with someone talking about their religion to my child but I do have a problem if they are asked by my kid to leave them alone and they do not do so. If they try and frighten my child or ask her to accompany them somewhere then I also hace a major problem with that

Poor kids just want to go for a swim, and now they'll be proselytized to.
