True story, I asked our contact at the Blazers if I could be a judge this year and he said he'd get back to me... never heard from him again. Now which one of you guys ratted me out?
Danforth, Dirt and Sprague did the prelims for the auditions.... so yeah, you clearly have no qualifications to do this, sly.
I just watched the first round (40 of 160 minutes) and I'm tired. Judging them is harder than I expected. No one stands out as bad. All 37 are experienced and know what they're doing. Now there are a couple more rounds and 16 will win. I can't judge quickness, watching 3 at a time. I'd hate to be a basketball scout.
I'd just pick the 16 shortest dancers, they make our team seem taller. The tall contestants just looked out of place and gangly
When a tall one swings her arm or leg, you notice it more, because it travels farther. I'm a rookie to this, but it seems that the skill is 80% quickness, 10% travel distance of limbs, and 10% how well they know the routines. The last can be corrected with practice. Down around #16, the tie-breaker is beauty. Above #16, skill is the only factor. The judges are mainly women who have done or taught cheerleading for years. As a man, I'm just stupidly thinking, they're all good; I don't know who to pick.
