If Beltran and McCann contribute they have a shot. If they go back into a black hole you can forget it.

Joe is cupable and capable..... He is no Torre, no Stengel either, but I'll take what we got to work with. Recall, a Mgr. can only be as good as their players...... Some times player can be no better than their management........ let us pray.......
I have all the love in the world for Joe Torre but lets not rewrite history in regards to his tactical abilities as a manager.
Mon apolgies....wasn't trying to regard Joe as a Stengelsque great....He was good, some would argue his team made him, but it DOES work both ways....ie, A Mgr. can only be as good as the sum of his components, eg, Players, and Players can only be as good as the opportunities the Mgr. allows them or only as good as their Mgr. will allow them to be..... Actually I loved Torre as the Yanx Skipper, and a MVP player. I DID NOT like Torre too much when he blew a 8 game lead, rather his Braves did to the Bums. Sept 1st, Braves up 8 games, the Bums down 8. Both teams would play a 4 game series in each city. Joe, lost all 8, the NL West, and the rest is history. That one pissed me off, even tho' I was pulling for the Braves, cuz I despised any Lasorda ran team..... so I was a bit iffy when the Yanx looked at Torre, recall he was their 4th pick,..... Yet, he did his job, proper, until time ran out, and his approach was No longer what the Yanx needed, IMO.....a time & place for everything and everyone?????
Don't mind my interference, but hell yeah, Joe G. has the moxy to take the Yanx to Post Season....win it all.....?????, well, that onus I'd place on the players....!
Tell me the truth Ron either Girardi saved your life once or your related to the man. I honestly don't think you've EVER disagreed with ANYTHING the man has ever done on a baseball diamond. And that's cool, you're a fan of his, I get all that, whatever floats your boat. But just once I would love to hear you criticize him for something anything. But you won't.
If not Girardi who else realistically do you want managing this team that would be doing a better job?
Ok...I'll give you some criticism of Gerardi, he should use "Hair Club For Men", dye his hair black or Yankee blue....but then I like the Silver Fox look....! LOL...
