Well if nothing else he makes Pau look sprightly by comparison.

Don't we traditionally save last gasper signings to the geriatic Pistons pool?

Still decent glory stats. I trust I PER like I trust abandoned lot used car sakesmen so I will leave it to proponents to drop that knowledge FWIW. In any event, high mileage, hard miles.

He did start 76 games and play over 31 minutes for a Dallas team that won 49 games last year, so he must have a little something left in the tank.

And he shot 35.8% from behind the arc on 2 attempts a game, so it's nice to see the team adding guys who can shoot 3's.

Seems like the perfect sort of ring-chaser for the minimum that the Bulls need to fill the 13th spot on the roster.

Wow. Have you guys seen Marion's stats from last season?

He played 31.7 minutes a game. That's right, the ghost of Shawn Marion played 31.7 minutes a game.

His per 36s aren't great but he did put up 10.4 points per game on decent efficiency (.482 fg/.358 3pt/ .785 ft). His TS% for the last five season have been, .510, .523, .461, .531, and .523. That's not as good as Dunleavy but compares fine with Snell and Butler. I think he's a decent fit for Thibs' systems too. He always been a solid rebounder.

I don't dislike the move, especially on a veteran min contract. It's be nice if Thibs had options on the wing so that there would be healthy one when the playoffs begin.

It just makes you wonder if Butler is on his way out the door?

I like this move. The roster is really filling out.

If Rose is the old Rose, this team could escape the East, if the Cavs don't form another superteam.

He could actually start for us. He did for Dallas.

Marion is probably the better player and Dunleavy was brought here to be a bench player, no?

It's believed now around the league that Shawn Marion will "likely" sign with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Spurs, Bulls not out yet however.

Should have had Rose call him on the phone and suggest they go out to dinner sometime.

Dunleavy is much more efficient. I also think he fits better in Thibs' schemes. It'd be nice to have another handler like Marion though.

Rumor is we were interested in Marion, Brand, Douglas. Well Douglas talk is no more. We lose out on Marion, that leaves Brand. Another big.

FWIW, according to 82games.com, Marion posted a 11.9 PER at SF (54% of mins) and a 17.7 PER at PF (46% of mins) last season.

I don't think you can trust those numbers. It says Nowitzki played 98% of the team's total minutes at PF. I don't think Dirk played 47 minutes per game. That would also leave 2% possible for Marion.

Min represents the percentage of the team's total minutes the player was at that position. W and L are not adjusted in this instance by quality of opponent while at that position in a game.

I can't imagine there's enough minutes to make Brand happy. He played 19.4 per last season with the Hawks. It'd be great an acquisition, but I can't imagine he would want to sign with their being such a crowded front court.

10 years ago Elton's parents' hands were enormous for NBA player parents' hands standards.

Is that still the case in the more modern NBA? Or have the younger players' parents' hands caught up to Elton's?

As you may recall, I'm not a big fan of those particular 82games.com #s, hence the FWIW. Going forward, I'll try to remember that they've also fallen out of your favor.

I like the site a lot, I'm just not sure what the playing time % numbers mean anymore.

They have Boozer playing 60% of Bulls minutes at PF and another 22% at C. I'm pretty sure that means he played 82% of 48 minutes/game, but we know better.

It's also interesting that when you play Boozer so much at C his production fell.
