Oakland Raiders rookie quarterback Derek Carr suffered what was called a concussion by Raiders coach Dennis Allen late in his team's 27-26 preseason victory over the Detroit Lions on Friday night.

Carr, the Raiders' QB of the future and second-round draft pick out of Fresno State, was tackled from behind and landed on violently by 262-pound Lions defensive end Larry Webster while rolling out of the pocket to his right with 5:35 remaining in the game. Carr, who threw an incompletion on the play, immediately grabbed at his ribs and headed for the locker room.
