One of the best for sure. He's been out of his prime for a few years, and this is a long time coming. It marks the end of an era, which is sad.

When a referee's parabolic career descends a little under NBA-quality, he should still be good for a few NCAA years, right? The pay per game is still good for a ref with a rep, but with a lot fewer games. Why doesn't Bavetta try it? Which laid-off NBA refs then became reliable NCAA refs?
They could just become replay refs in a booth with a monitor if that ever happens. No, wait, Scott Foster ....bad idea
