    The Cowboys are desperate for linebacker help with the season-ending injury to Sean Lee, but Rolando McClain — once considered a longshot to even make the team — looks as if he could be poised to fill a gaping hole on defense.

    McClain, the No. 8 overall pick by Oakland in 2010, retired for a second time after a half-hearted attempt to make the Ravens this summer. He even told his Twitter followers he was “done” and said you have to “follow your heart.”

    But the middle linebacker from Alabama made impact plays in a 37-30 loss to the Ravens on Saturday. He led the Cowboys with six tackles, had a forced fumble and a drive-ending pass deflection.
