Holy Moses......I'm really not a fan of MLB banning chewing tobacco use, tho' I do believe its the right thing to do. Kids see as much and want to chew. I saw kids but 14 yrs. old chewing when I was in the South working.

Yet- I don't like anyone taking away my Freedoms of Vanity, regardless....LOL, ya' know what I mean.?

I completely disagree with you on this one Rob, I think chewing tobacco ALL chewing tobacco should be banned at all levels. And not just because of Gwynn. I've just heard to many horror stories over the years. One about a 17 year old high school player that had to have his pallet removed. 17 fucking years old. And for what? to be like his heroes.

Whatever happened to the days where dugouts had a bucket filled with bubble gum.

...seems rather strange to have to ban something that the government profits from.

I don't think there's a disagreement here Rick, I said "I'm really not a fan of MLB banning chewing tobacco use, tho' I do believe its the right thing to do"

Yet-my point includes the fact I don't like anyone, govt. or otherwise dictating to me what my freedoms are....! After all this Nation was founded on certain freedoms, which are re-defined over the years....!

In other words, I'm on the Fence on this one, and Yep, the Bums I know keep 2 gallon buckets of "Big League Chew" in their dugouts, I believe the Mets, and Cards do as much incl. The Halos I've also seen BLC in theirs too....

Man I loved having a big chaw of BLC when I was able to play BB, moreso than nasty tobaccy Red Man or Levi Garrett syrup juice....any day give me BLC....let me blow bubbles like Lawrence f'kn Welk. Man I disliked that show as a kid, my parents watched it every effing Sunday Night, and with but 1 B&W TV I had NO choice.....see my point NO CHOICE. Yet- I as well knew a Man who had his entire lower jaw removed from chewing wacky tobaccy, no not that kind....!
