I really like Ellsbury in the lead off spot. And with his ability to go early in the count when he gets on base (unlike Gardner) it keeps Jeter out of hitting into so many DPs.

And to think it only took 120 games.

I couldn't resist you made it to easy, Okay, I'll be good.

I hope this doesn't jinx us but this is just the type of pitcher (1st career start) that would beat us. NAH! what am I thinking?

As a pitchers name,Kyle Lobstein is right up there with Johnny McGroove.

Tanaka throws 49 pitches in second simulated game
    By Michael Axisa
As expected, Masahiro Tanaka threw his second simulated game this morning. He threw 49 pitches across three innings while facing Brendan Ryan, who batted both right- and left-handed. Tanaka threw all of his pitches and said he feels nothing more than normal soreness, though he is rusty. Joe Girardi called it a “good step in the right direction.”
The Yankees will wait to see how Tanaka and his partially torn elbow ligament feel in the coming days before setting the next step in stone. Girardi indicated his ace will throw at least two and likely three more simulated games before returning to the team. The minor league season ends Monday, so Tanaka will have to do all of his rehab and prep work in simulated games. That’s not ideal but there’s really nothing they can do.

Even though he's been the most durable starter for the Yankees this year, I think we're seeing the last of Kuroda. Especially at that price ($16M)

Actually, this is LOB-stein's 2nd game: his first was the 23, August vs Minnesota....5.2 IP- 4 Hits, 3 Earned Runs, 5 Walks, (1 was Intentional)...
I saw that game, and thought then His last name was fitting, and Yep, he began to LOB that ball, floating hanging watermelon....Seems to of gained his control.....Now if only he'd Lob a few here and now....

...yeah, saw that earlier...they really need to get him into some actual games this year. Not only because the Yanx can use the pitching help, but also to really test that elbow to determine whether he should have surgery in the off season or not.

Given the question marks I cited, Kuroda has the leverage regarding contract price. So your approach would be to say "hey we'd love to have you for one more season..." And then low ball him?

There's a reason you drive a keyboard my friend.
