Sounds like a deal has been reached for Welbeck at 16m. Just about covers their cost to bring in Falcao but only for a season long loan.
If this is done we need to sign a CB or a hybrid CB/DM. I don't like the idea of Flamini starting at CB with fuck all on the bench behind him should one of the Kossackers get injured.
Quite pleased if the Welbeck signing comes through. Experienced PL striker, very young, English, and big enough to play up front. Goal scoring record leaves a bit to be desired but he can improve. Obviously this isn't a star striker like we wanted but at this point it's too late in the game for that.
So no defensive midfielder, and the best striker we could get is maybe Welbeck but only if Falcao passes his physical for ManUre? Season over.
Missing out on a defensive midfielder is pretty unacceptable seeing as our only options are Flamini and Arteta. It's not the end of the world though. Liverpool have pretty shitty options there too.
