...I think I read that they have had 18 different starting QBs in the last 10 years.

Hard to believe the Raiders have had such a hard time finding a good solid all-star caliber QB after all these years.

It's almost as puzzling as to why the Yankees haven't yet drafted, developed a top notch starting pitcher who has become a mainstay #1-3 since Andy Pettitte.

Fair chance Shane Green can become that guy. I hope.

His older brother too a small town High School (Tehachapi) to a State Championship. Big Brother also played for a short time at College of the Canyons, also nearby.....

Derek was rated as a prodigy to be, above and beyond his Big Bro....I do hope Carr has the success he had at Fresno St. A true Bulldog.....

Derek's big brother David shot this video....

Derek's Big Brother- David Carr, was the 1st ever QB with the new Houston Texan's (02) NFL Team. David, Got beat up badly due to a horrid offensive line, and overall horrid team, in their beginning years.....Matt Schaub replaced Carr in Houston......

BTW-(Bridesagain)- who could ever forget Daryl Lamonica, great Super Bowl II QB...

how about Tom Flores, when he was the Raiders QB, then with the Independent American Football League....!

...I've been a Raiders fan since about 1963...(in fact, when I first started posting on the espn boards in '98 or '99 i I posted initially on the Raiders board first...and my SN was "raidersince63")(yeah, I know, I'm a real imaginative fucker, ain't I?)
...anywho, I started being a Raiders fan because I thought their uniforms and helmet was cool looking...that was when Al Davis was their coach and if I'm not mistaken, he coached them to their first winning season. In his early days, Al Davis was a football genius and quickly built somewhat of a dynasty. And for a long time they were dubbed "the most successful franchise in sports history" (they has the highest winning %)...once Al added players like Lamonica, Biletnikoff, Wells, Dixon, Smith, Davidson, Tatum, Atkinson, Brown, Upshaw, Shell, etc., they really took off.
...it was a fun time to be a Raider fan back then...not so much nowadays. I still watch their games, but it's usually pretty ugly.

    ...oh, btw, here's where I found that 18 different QB stat;

"Carr, a second-round pick out of Fresno State in May, will become the 18th starting quarterback for the Raiders since the start of the 2003 season."

...the video shows Carr looking pretty good vs Seattle's first team defense.

 I too was fascinated by the Raider's Logo, colors, and Genius Al Davis. He had some incredibly talented Teams.....tho' I must confess I rooted for the Packers in the first two Super Bowls. Yet never gave up on those head hunters, til well after they left L.A. to go back home to Oakland. Raider's games in Los Angeles, were like going to a gang turf war. It didn't help with the Coliseum literally surrounded by ghetto/barrio gang banging homey's. Raider's colors were more apropos in the ghettos of L.A.

Police Presence was at times larger at Raider games, more-so than the Police Presence during the Riots in L.A.......I don't think they ever played a game without at least one stabbing, or a huge section worth of fans, all beating on each other.....til the Cops broke 'em up, cuffing enough peeps to fill several Riot Wagons, (bigger than a UPS truck). I always wondered why the Cops didn't use Semi-Truck Trailers instead....!

...oh, I forgot...the way they had it painted, the Raiders also had the coolest looking field.

Those old Raider teams had a tremendous offensive line, good active linebackers and outstanding quarterbacking....not to mention the only current HOF punter- the great Ray Guy.

That'll do very nicely thank you!

...career average of 47.6 per punt (highest of all time)
