if he gets invited to training camp doe she have a shot to make the team? I guess that depends on Miller and Hayes
On the decline due to drug issues I believe, something about him being arrested at the end of last season if I remember correctly. If he has been cleared by the NHL substance abuse program, why not give the guy a tryout? Sometimes these guys come back with something to prove, he WAS a consistent 40+ point player that could chip in 20 goals, and he is big, I think 6'4" or so and prob 225. Not saying he should take the spot of one of the kids, but might be a decent depth guy to move up and down from HFD if he has himself cleaned up and is willing to take a very limited salary.....
I agree, don't see the downside to this if this guy is clean, and since the coke charges were dropped, I'd assume that his is in fact clean and good to go as far as the NHL program is concerned. Best case, the guys is big, and could chip in a few goals as a very inexpensive third liner, worst case, he pushes some of the prospects to really earn a spot a little more....
no need to worry about motivation or effort at this point in Ryan's life. worth a look in camp. big body with amean streak.
