At this point just hit as many Rays batters as possible.

Saw game highlights of the 2nd & 3rd game, seems like Rays did not care for one of their own getting bopped. I was somewhat surprised, one of the features of the Torre/Girardi eras is no retaliation. Don't know if Phelps acted on his own or was given direction from a team mate. I've always felt that the Yankees Pitchers have let Longoria get to comfortable in the box. I don't like the "head hunting" but a bit of chin music would help to keep people honest. A final season series of 8-11 against those clowns is an embarrassment to the franchise.

...lost in last night's game was a feat that McCarthy pulled off...in the 7th he struck out the sides on 9 pitches.

...all 3 batters struck out swinging...pretty rare.

That was pretty sharp, got a good look on Quick Pitch this AM. When the Yankees got him my impression is that they were losing one dud in Nuno and picking up another in McCarthy. The man has been a pleasant surprise since joining the team, perhaps kudos to Rothschild for input. I hate to talk "next year" sounds like Dodger Fans of the fifties but pitching wise the Yankees should be looking good with some ifs. Nova will be back, Greene, I think Whitley should be improved. Gotta get some situational hitters in there.

McCarthy is a 2 or 3, along with a Healthy Tanaka and Pineda. Add Greene and Nova. Pitching isn't the problem....well starting pitching. Who needs Kuroda or CC. They will need to trade some pitching for bats, that is coming.
