If you happen to enjoy country music, you may know US country music star George Hamilton IV, who back in the 70s became an international ambassador for country music. Sadly over the weekend George Hamilton IV passes away.

George Hamilton IV started performing in the 50s in his teen years, and in 1960 was inducted into Nashville’s Grand Old Opry, continued to work until he was taken ill, and suffered a major heart attack at the weekend, reports the BBC.

Back in 1956 Hamilton IV had a top 5 hit in the United States with A Rose and A Baby Ruth, which gained the singer tours with such greats as the Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly. But after being mentored by Chet Atkins, Hamilton IV entered the world of country music, and had 40 hits during the 60s and 70s.
