Weren't there like 3 Jones brothers playing in the league at the same time?

Were there 3, or 4 Jones "boys" as some in the media phrased it. I called them the Jones brothers, which had its own connotation. I think only 3 of them played in the NBA, maybe 1 in the ABA? Major was the least of the 3, I think. He wasn't thin like Caldwell but had the least talent.

Caldwell sure helped the 76ers' duo of Erving & McGinnis. Bobby Jones, etc. Later, Barkley's personality pushed Erving into retiring, Cheeks came along, etc. I should look this up so I appear to remember clearly.

Didn't Charles Jones play on the Blazers at the same times as Caldwell. Not sure if they were actually related, but I remember Charles being way less talented.

    RIP Caldwell!!

Still remember all of those "Old Man" dunks towards the end of his career. About once every few games he would catch his man napping on him and spin and dunk. Loved it!

Ditto, though in this age of renaming people like Leonar_,
perhaps we should call him CalDwell Jones.

Darn! Seems like yesterday he was in the paint leaning on the other center then beat him to the rebound.

I heard somewhere that 75 is the correct age to wish to die at.

No time to search right now, but all I remember with Caldwell was him rocking RED shoes! He was on the team during that stretch when all out guys were wearing the red with white kicks. Much street cred went his way because of that!

Only if someone else decides for you.

I liked Caldwell Jones plenty. But he's a poster child for why you want a guy like Moses Malone at C.

I remember how almost every game he played in (for Portland)...he'd get poked in the eye on a layup attempt.

RIP and respect to an iron man, 17 year workhorse of a player as well as a very, very good human being off the court.
