Yuri Simoes vs. Rafael Lovato, Vinny Magalhaes vs. Kevin Casey, Garry Tonon vs. Zak Maxwell, and a mystery match also announced.

Saku hasn't competed in MMA since 2011. I'm not really sure what he's been up to. Maybe pro wrestling? This BJJ match with Renzo is a rematch of sorts dating back to 2000, when Saku completed his third of four "Gracie Hunter" challenges by defeating Renzo by kimura (Renzo refused to tap). Renzo hasn't competed since an embarrassing loss to Matt Hughes in 2010 and has spent most of his time operating his Gracie Jiu-Jitsu affiliate schools in the NY/NJ area and working with Serra/Longo's stable of UFC fighters.

Rory MacDonald isn't the first active UFC fighter to participate in Metamoris (Brendan Schaub "competed" at Metamoris 2). The 25-year old is a black belt in no-gi BJJ under David Lea (via Gracie BB Chris Brennan). The no-gi distinction is controversial in the grappling world with the likes of Neil Melanson and Rolles Gracie both taking criticism for handing out no-gi belts. Even Eddie Bravo, who awards no-gi belts, is not universally accepted in the grappling world (he should be). His opponent, "Spiderman" Torres, has both gi- and no-gi credentials. He is a two-time World Jiu-Jitsu silver medalist and a gold medalist in no-gi JJ (2013). Torres has competed as a featherweight and a lightweight. I think MacDonald will have size on him. He has the unfortunate distinction of being (formerly) associated with Team Lloyd Irvin.

5 draws in 6 fights? What a farce!

Missed it. Guess there were problems with the stream, too.

Torres/MacDonald was supposedly very good. Torres went for many submissions but MacDonald wouldn't tap. MacDonald went for a flying scissor heel hook at one point a-la Chonan/Silva.

After the event Saku said he was disappointed with his own performance.

Grapplers are pretty happy with Rory for going out and giving Torres a match. When Brendan Schaub competed he played it very safe and made his participation pointless as a result.
